Review of Literature Alive!

A DAY SPENT WITH THE BOOK "LITERATURE ALIVE!"

This same day, I gathered the kids for the beach (lake) and checked the mail on the way. There was this big fat book in my mailbox!! Boy! Was I ever SO excited!! I could hardly not stop reading it all the way to the lake. It took LOTS of self-control! :) Then I had to decide to bring the book to the shore???? I HAD to! I had waited so long for it. It went on a hike, then crossed the river in two places before I got to the beach with me carrying the baby at the same time. We swam for half an hour, then I sat (cool) finally and purused the book, yelling at any kid that came near me dripping wet. I wondered, oh, did I blow it! Should I have left the book in the car??? It survived the trek and the wet kids. I already went crazy reading this and that...now I am trying to go through it in order.

I LOVE IT!! YOU DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB!! I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A PROUD OWNER OF "LITERATURE ALIVE!" I am showing it to everyone!

Your book is fantastic -- I've eyeballed through the whole book, and read a few selected areas, and it's just so well done, cohesive and informative and lights a fire for literature in the reader ! You covered such a great span of literature topics inside and out and upside down and sideways and all the way out to space !!!! And the Feasting on Storybooks section is so neat ! What a great addition - I know folks will gain so much insight from this. Denise in Ohio

I just received Cay Gibson's Literature Alive! book 2 days ago and finished it in 2 late evenings! I really am excited to recommend it to others as a wonderful resource full of many ideas for parents with kids of all ages wishing to tie in books more as a lifestyle rather than just reading aloud. Just wanted to let you know the book arrived this afternoon. I have read about half. I will write more when I finish it but I want you to know I am in love with it! I am passing the word along about the book. I can not keep my mouth shut about a book I am falling passionately in love with each page I read! I am trying to read it quickly so I can read it a second time slowly and make personal notes.

I am gleaming ideas, traveling down memory lane, etc... Please write another book soon!!!(on my knees begging) Thanks for the wonderful addition to our family library.

Cay, I have finished the book. I am so impressed with your insight for literature!!! I am now going "to fill in the gaps" with a second reading using rabbit trails, personal observations, etc.. I have never been so quick to do a second reading of any book in my lifetime... believe me I have read quite a few... but this book has inspire me to keep learnining. I believe you have accomplished your goal, Cay. Thank you so much for making the time in your busy life to put this masterpiece together. I just received the book yesterday from Weed Hill and I am so very excited. Thank you for daring to write your book. I say that not because of content but because it is not easy to find a niche among so very many books available. My sister, the Lord clearly made a way for this book. I love the format and set up and I am sure to love reading it all!! I received my book on Tuesday of this week. It is wonderful!! I have already recommended it to many of my friends. I love that you wrote it in such a fashion that your Christian walk shines. I leafed through it and now I am really excited to get back to our studies (can't bring myself to say school, just doesn't sound right, not with the ideas presented in this book anyway). I heard about it (Literature Alive!)on another list and just had to have a copy when I read through the table of contents. Many new and creative thoughts and fantastic quotes I'd never heard before have been leaping out at me from those pages. I am really relishing it! Thanks Cay!
